A Little Sewing Project.....A Curtain Skirt For My Bathroom Vanity.....

I like a quick little project that can be completed in an afternoon, don't you!? Last week, with the August summer heat in full force, I felt like doing some indoor projects, so I made this little curtain skirt for my bathroom vanity. I've had the pretty rose fabric folded up for several years waiting for the perfect project, (the fabric was a gift from a dear online friend), it's by 3 Sisters, and it's called Paris Flea Market...the name couldn't be more fitting for such a beautifully designed fabric....this is the same fabric that lines the back of my shabby shelf that's over my tub....
It's just right for covering up the two shelves of towels and other necessities (junk) that are behind the curtains. I think it gives the room a romantic shabby French country flair with the rustic stone looking flooring. I don't think I've shown you the floor before, but my husband laid the flooring last May, and I think he did an amazing job, he did the baseboard trim too. I painted the walls and cabinets. I appreciate all of his hard work on that project, it really was such a welcome change for our bathroom....

In case you're wondering what in the world this is on the counter, in the jar....I'll tell you, I tried my hand at making my own homemade salt scrub last week too! I found a great recipe, it was so easy and works wonderfully....it's the best I've ever used,  (I'll maybe share the recipe in an upcoming post sometime soon).  I put it in one of my wide mouth vintage apothecary style jars by the sink with a silver spoon for dipping....

I was happy that there was enough material left over to make a couple of hand towels for the tubs edge....

In decorating, one thing seems to always lead to another doesn't it?  So, I was inspired to change up the tub side shelf too....with fluffy peach peonies, a gifted jasmine musk French candle from my son and his wife, some vintage hobnail milk glass for a tea lite and bath oil, and a little rose creamer pitcher, that can be used for a water pitcher, I suppose....
Have you been doing any indoor summer projects, to escape the summer heat? What have you been up to this summer, besides trying to stay cool, like me?!
