Looking Forward To Fall

Who's ready for fall?  Raise your hand.

These days I find myself dreaming of fall a lot...even though summer seems to be hanging on with temps outside soaring well above 100 degrees this past weekend, I've still been doing some dreaming and thumbing through holiday magazines, and thinking about how I want to decorate things for the holiday season this year and what new recipes I might want to try. That's just me, for as long as I can remember I've done this. I've found a few vintage things in recent thrift store hunts, that will be great for the upcoming autumn season...

Handmade vintage fabric pumpkins in soft shades of tan and white, and faded orange, I think these have a unique shabby primitive country feel to them...the floral ticking design on the tan one is especially cute to me and would be perfect for the shabby cottage chic decor...

I lucked upon this vintage blow mold scarecrow with a jack o' lantern head...

and a cute vintage handmade crochet orange pumpkin with green stem and leaves.

 Well, that's all for now.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Antiquing

Recently my husband and I made a trip to Eufaula, AL. to visit a friend of ours and to do some antiquing.

Eufaula is a small southern town with charming old houses that line the streets as you go into the downtown area, so pretty. There's even some historic mansions to tour, and there's a large lake there, but I didn't get any pictures of it this time.

Downtown has several quaint antique & thrift stores to plunder around in, you could spend hours looking around in them, so much to see...

The largest one is Shady Oaks Thrift Store,  I took some snapshots of the inside of it to share...

I think it's safe to say that they had a little bit of everything!

I hope that you enjoyed coming along for the tour, thanks for visiting!

As summer days get shorter and the bright vibrant greens turn to a more pastel color under the grey clouds brings the beauty of sage green. Not quite winter, not quite summer, a color all of it's own.
