I'm reminded this day to give thanks, that it is the little things that matter most in life... it's the things that cannot be replaced and money cannot buy. I am grateful for such things.
This year I'm doing something a little different during our Thanksgiving get together, I've made a "Count Your Blessings" Jar using a large mouth jar, some printables that I found at Graphics Fairy, and some jute twine string, fall colored buttons and some acorns from outside that I filled the bottom of the jar with, to give a little color inside of the jar. (I've including the prints that I used below at the end of the post, for anyone interested in making one of these jars for yourself, it only takes minutes to make... perfect if you are looking for a last minute touch for your Thanksgiving celebration). I'm having my jar near the table....I've printed some blank "I'm Thankful For" cards (also courtesy of Graphics Fairy), for guests to fill in what they are thankful for this year... leaving it unsigned if they wish to. Each guest will put their card in the jar and then it will be passed around the table and a card will be pulled out and read. A simple way for each person to share what makes them thankful this year.
